Counselling
WELCOME TO STUDENT COUNSELLING
AND WELL-BEING
Why provide school counseling?
Schools play a vital role in the development of positive mental health in children. An inclusive, caring, supportive school environment, provides children with a sense of safety and belonging, which helps protect children from the mental health issues that can impact learning, motivation and relationships.
Counselling in school is very helpful to students, parents and teachers, when mental health difficulties arise. We also know that happier children are more successful academically and have healthier relationships. Not only does the counsellor provide emotional first aid, but also the counselling approach can promote personal growth and positive behavioural change, which can be very helpful for the child as they grow and encounter new challenges. Many children and parents access our service and find it a helpful experience.
We can help with a host of life struggles which may include:
• Relationship difficulties
• Grief and Loss
• Self esteem and low confidence
• Stress and anxiety
• Depression and self harm
• Family conflict
