General Information

Renaissance College is a Private Independent School (PIS) run by ESF Educational Services Ltd.

We are a fully accredited, through-train IB School, offering all three IB programmes on one campus. 

Renaissance College is an English medium school. Mandarin will be offered as a specialist language subject for all students. 

The following conditions apply to Private Independent Schools:  

  • At capacity, 70 per cent of students enrolled must have one parent with Hong Kong Permanent Resident status. 

  • Renaissance College has no catchment area. 
  • Children of full-time teachers at RCHK, Discovery College and ESF schools are guaranteed a place within a PIS or ESF school. 

Application to ESF and ESF Private Independent Schools (PIS) 

Dual applications are permitted, so you may apply to both ESF and Private Independent Schools.  

ESF Schools and PIS require separate applications. For statistical purposes, parents are asked to indicate the schools to which they have applied by ticking the appropriate boxes on the individual application forms.  

Please note: On-line application for Discovery College (PIS) or/and other ESF Schools can be filed via the Discovery College or/and the official ESF website.    

Priority for Admissions Assessment/Interview

When demand for enrolment in any year group exceeds the number of places available, students may be placed on an active applications list await for assessment/interview. Priority for an admissions assessment/interview will be based on the following criteria:

1. Children of full time ESF/PIS teacher

2. Siblings of students currently attending RCHK

3. Children currently attending ESF Educational Services Ltd. Kindergartens (Year 1 applicants only). Applicants must have attended a minimum of TWO continuous terms prior to interview date (see Admissions Schedule)

4. Former RCHK students returning from a period overseas

5. Children of RCHK alumni

6. Other applicants.
 
Admission Assessment/Interview Leads to the Enrollment & Waiting List

Applicants for Renaissance College will undergo age-appropriate writing and reading test to demonstrate that they are capable of engaging with an English medium IB curriculum.  

In addition, secondary applicants will attend an individual interview. This interview is designed to explore each student’s potential for learning and their ability to engage with the IB MYP and Diploma curriculum.  

Applicants’ academic background, previous school reports and supporting documents will also be taken into account. Applicants must be able to demonstrate behavioral responsibility and the principles of good citizenship.

Applicants pass the assessment/interview will be offered a place or be placed on the waiting list if the vacancies are not available immediately.

Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of $800 per applicant is required to offset administrative costs.   

Tuition Fees 2011-12   (Any annual fee increases are subject to approval by the EDB. )

Primary Year Programme (Year 1 to 6): HK$76,100 per annum.  

Middle Year Programme (Year 7 to 11): HK$101,800 per annum.  

Diploma Programme (Year 12 to 13): HK$102,900 per annum.  

* Financial aid may be available for families in need.

Deposit (Pre-pay Fees)

The College requires a 2-month deposit when students are offered a place. This deposit is HK$15,220 for Primary Year Programme, HK$20,360 for Secondary Year Programme and HK$20,580 for Diploma Programme.  

Half of the deposit is offset against the first month’s fees. The remainder will be credited against the fees for the last month of enrolment, subject to a two-month advance notice of withdrawal in writing. The two-month deposit is non-refundable and non- transferable if the school place is not subsequently taken up.  

A one-off, "Non-refundable Building Levy (NBL)" of HK$23,500 will be introduced for all Year One students starting in the 2012-13 academic year.  New students entering Year 2 to Year 12 will be required to pay a prorated contribution.

Renaissance College places children in the year group primarily according to their date of birth (January-December). Please refer to the year of birth to year group table below.
