Team Sports

In 2006, we launched our team sports programme with an U-20 Volleyball game against CDNIS. Our novice team was defeated, but it was an important first step in developing a sporting culture at RCHK.

Since then, the College’s athletic program has experienced dramatic growth and change. We now field teams in the International School Sports Federation Hong Kong (ISSFHK), the Hong Kong Primary Schools Group (HKPSG) and the Hong Kong School Sports Federation (HKSSF) and the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS).

We recently launched the College’s team mascot, the Black Kite. We wanted something that was both relevant and reflective of Renaissance College and its students. The Black Kite is a bird that is native to Hong Kong, it is graceful, powerful, proud and loyal, all qualities that are important when a student pulls on an RCHK team shirt.

The aim of our team sports programme is to instill important values in our students – from teamwork and leadership skills to a sense of fair play and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness.

We run a variety of individual and team sports throughout the year. Our teams typically practice for two hours a week and have matches each week.
