Our Well-Being Team
We are a team of both in school and private practice, professional, qualified, counsellors and social workers.
All of our counsellors are registered to practice in Hong Kong and abide by an ethical code of conduct.
Our Well-Being Team's support services are confidential and provided free to members of the Renaissance College community.
Counselling can be offered in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Andrew Parkinson
Counsellor
Andrew Parkinson is RCHK's full-time, college-wide counsellor and Well-being Team leader. For the past 20 years, he has pursued his passion for assisting people to develop themselves and their lives in directions that are personally meaningful and rewarding. In order to better serve and support people in their self-directed transformations, he has studied psychology, counselling and various approaches to therapy. When not indulging in his work or further training, he enjoys playing guitar, walking in nature and savouring food from around the world (especially Japanese and Indian).
Ana Chan
School Social Worker
Ana Chan is a registered social worker. She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and received her Master of Social Science in Counselling degree from the University of Hong Kong. Ana has experience in youth outreaching, career counselling and school based work.
She takes a family-based approach to support students and parents, and offers casework counselling and social community services.
Joyce Chan
Counsellor
Joyce Chan from Phoenix Practice has a Master of Social Sciences in Counselling degree from the City University of Hong Kong. She enjoys working with adults and young people. Joyce has been trained in using the Child Centered Play Therapy skills to work with young children. She has also facilitated peer support training (PALS). In addition to working with young children, Joyce also offers a Parent Support Session once a week for parents who need support with parenting, relationships or other issues.
Joyce can speak fluent English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
She is available by appointment on Mondays from 9-4, and on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4pm.
Jan Beasley
Counsellor
Jan is a person-centred counsellor trained in the United Kingdom. After completing her counselling qualifications she worked in a hospice as a bereavement counsellor, had a small private practice, and tutored an entry level counselling course at a UK adult education college.
Now based in Hong Kong, she works with adults in private practice, in senior school with adolescents, and delivers cross culture training programmes for expatriates. With an interest in differences and change, it was a natural progression to develop an interest in cross culture communication. To feed this interest she spent part of last summer at the Summer Institute of Cultural Communication in Portland, Oregon, USA. She has taken many classess there including completing a foundation in intercultural communication and a critical briefing of China.
Jan is committeed to her own personal development n order that she can help her clients to her best ability.
Cindy Bonacorso LaTour
Counsellor
Cindy Bonacorso LaTour has a Masters in Marriage Family Therapy degree and is an Imago certified relationship counsellor. She enjoys working with teenagers, individuals, adolescents and couples. She has voluntarily worked with teens for several years as a big sister type mentor. Cindy privately facilitates positive parenting, adoption and co-parenting during separation/divorce. She is also a sex therapist in training. When she isn't working, she enjoys her three kids, baking, hiking and road biking. She is on campus at RCHK one day a week most Thursdays/Fridays. Cindy is available by appointment on Thursdays from 8:30am - 3pm.
