PYP Teacher

My name is Lisa MacDonald and I am the homeroom teacher for 3LM students. I grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada and moved to Hong Kong in 2000. This is my 11th year of teaching and my second year teaching Year 3 at RCHK.

I am really looking forward to the 2012-12 academic year working in a school with a fantastic staff, great resources and most importantly, enthusiastic students. Before coming to Hong Kong, I taught in public schools in small rural communities in Nova Scotia. In Hong Kong, I have taught in several different international schools.

Head of Science

My name is Alan MacIntyre and I am from Scotland. I studied for a degree in Physics and Physical Electronics and much later a degree in Computer Science. I completed my Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Jordanhill College, Strathclyde University and have been teaching for 25 years. I have taught in Scotland as well as Bangkok Patana, where I was head of IT, Nanjing International School, Nanjing China where I was head of Science, and previously in Hong Kong at the Australian International School.

I come from the beautiful, but sometimes wet and windy, country of Scotland. I have been teaching for over 30 years in a variety of different schools. I have taught abroad in Thailand, China and Hong Kong. I started working in Renaissance College in 2010 and love the buzz of activity in the school. When I have spare time I love to try new recipes, which I share with my friends and family, only if they’re tasty. I also enjoy listening to music, singing and reading and of course the opportunity to travel to new places.

Hi, I’m Cliff Mak. I graduated from the University of Hong Kong and got the scholarship to study in Japan as an exchange student. Before joining RCHK, I served in different international schools and have been teaching IGCSE and IBDP for more than 6 years. I am an avid sports fan and love playing badminton and soccer. I look forward to the challenges and building a bright future with RCHK.

Secondary Drama and Humanities Teacher

I am from South Africa but I have been traveling overseas for the last 6 years. I've had wonderful experiences teaching in South Africa, Taiwan, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Teaching has provided me with the amazing opportunity of experiencing different cultures and traditions. I am excited about being back in Hong Kong to part of a community that is passionate about learning and growing.

I have spent most of my working life in the sunny climate of Scotland, firstly as a marine electrician and then teacher. I have landed in Hong Kong via two rewarding stints at international schools in Thailand and Vietnam. I have been coaching boys football for a number of years and still enjoy playing it when my fellow players allow me to.

I am an avid scuba diver, cyclist, photographer, traveller and geek. I will try most things at least once and I enjoy meeting and working with new people of all ages. 

Special Education Needs Teacher

I grew up in the American Midwest where the winters are long and the summers are hot and much too short. I’m always up for learning something new, and enjoy travelling the globe. I’ve been teaching for 17 years, and spent the past decade working in International Baccalaureate schools in Asia. I’ve taught upper-primary through high school. My secondary curricular areas include Humanities and English with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Learning Technology Coach

I am an American originally from Los Angeles and hold a BA in English from UCLA, and a MA in technology education from Azusa Pacific University and also an administrative credential.  I have experience working with international students from 10 -18 to adulthood. I am enjoying my new role as the MYP Technology Coach helping students and teachers integrate technology. In my spare time, I enjoy watching NBA, Aussie Rules and travelling with my family. I'm also an avid film buff.

My name is Matthew McManaway and I am from the beautiful Rangetikei region in the Central North Island, New Zealand. I moved to Hong Kong in September last year with friends and have not looked back. Before arriving in Hong Kong I studied for a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English at Otago University, and then gained my Graduate Diploma of Teaching. I worked in a primary School for just under two years in New Zealand – teaching Year 2 in my first year and Year 3 and 4 in my second.
